TheSchoolMatch (“we”, “us”) helps families in Qatar discover and compare British and international schools. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have. We process personal data in line with Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016) and its related guidance.

• Account details — your name and email address when you sign up or sign in.
• Profile & matching information — details you provide to get school recommendations, such as your children’s ages/year groups, location or preferred areas, budget, and school preferences.
• Reviews & verification — the content of any review you submit, plus the proof-of-enrolment document you upload so we can confirm you are a genuine current or past parent.
• Enquiries — messages you send us via contact forms or email.
• Usage & device data — pages viewed, approximate location, browser/device type and similar analytics collected through cookies and privacy-respecting tools.

• To create and manage your account.
• To generate school matches and comparisons tailored to your family’s needs.
• To verify, moderate and publish parent reviews, and to issue any membership rewards for approved reviews.
• To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
• To improve the service, understand how it is used, and keep it secure.
• To send you service or transactional emails (for example reward codes). We only send marketing emails where you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Proof-of-enrolment documents are stored in a private location, visible only to our moderation team, and are never shown publicly. We ask you to redact fee amounts, ID numbers and your child’s full name before uploading. We keep these documents only for as long as needed to verify your review, after which they are deleted.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us run the platform (for example hosting, database, email delivery and analytics), under agreements that require them to protect your data.
• Schools — only where you choose to send an enquiry or booking request to a specific school.
• Authorities where we are legally required to do so.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used (for example through Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics). Analytics tools are configured to mask sensitive input. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect how the site works.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described here, or as required by law, and then delete or anonymise it.

Subject to Qatari law, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Ask us to delete your data or close your account.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

TheSchoolMatch is intended for use by parents and guardians, not by children. We collect information about children (such as age or year group) only from the parent using the service, and only to provide school recommendations.
